You know, while I don’t usually laugh at other people’s pain, I can’t really feel sorry for the testosterone hogs who prove their manliness by lifting more weight than we were really made to lift over their heads and grunting like a sick ape.

I know what you mean Tyger42. Most of the olimpic sport events don’t prove that you are a strong man, but that you train your legs for 30 years so you can jump hight. Whoop-de-doo. Back in Greece, you must take place in every event, and the most winner was the hero of the Olympic.
Nowadays, you just lift heavy things. For one, Bear Wrestling or Knife Fight should be real events.

Thats the problem with democracy – it highlights for people to just specialise in one area
bring back the days when people had the talent to do multiple things

Okay, call me crazy here, but maybe–just maybe– this guy doesn’t really lift weights to prove how manly he is. Maybe he does it because he likes it.
Even if he is, oh well. I hate to burst your bubble, but it’s just in the nature of men to want/try to best other people in competitions. Simple as that.

um.. considering how many years athletes dedicated to their training to compete in the olympics, and the number of olympics they could attend before they retire.. I’d say they’re pretty heroic. +considering this man would never be able to compete in the olympics again, I fail to see the humor in this. :/ just saying.
