So it is dark meat.
September 16, 2008 at 6:06 pm
Or red meat rather. That clears up something I have always pondered, but never asked about.

If it’s not too spicy and is low in carbs, I’d give it a chew.

It’s pretty tasty, really. Not hard to find anywhere in China or Hong Kong. Same with rats.

I suppose I understand why they’d do that (not wanting to offend the sensibilities of westerners), but, what’s the point of going to another country and never sample its food. If you don’t like it, you can always go to McDs. I presume there are McDs in China. I don’t think I could trust a country (its leaders/gov’t) that would so willingly to subsume their own culture to avoid possible offense.

oh, and I’d definitely try it. I try everything new I can. I am at the TOP of the food chain. Right now, anyway. When I’m hiking backwoods in Yellowstone- I could be at the bottom very suddenly.

Stuff gave me the runs… BAD. Once was enough.

I had the chance to try some when I was in Korea a couple of years ago…it’s not too bad actually. It’s considered a delicacy there so it’s not in every restaurant you walk into.

Got the chance to try dog on a trip through Central America. Not too bad but not as good as cat.

My neighbors have a particularly offensive mutt, so I might just be trying this dish within the next week or so.

Actually meat is luxury in China. They’re happy If they can have chicken once a year.
