
JetBlue Airways Flight 292, an Airbus A320-232, making an emergency landing at LAX on September 21, 2005 after the front landing gear malfunctioned. The front gear was turned perpendicular to the runway causing the tires to be torn off and sparks to fly up on impact. No one was injured during the landing and passengers began to disembark less than seven minutes later.

Are you kidding me?!? If I was on that plane the door would be open and the slide deployed immediately after it came to a halt in the middle of the runway. Less than seven minutes later seems to mean they kept all the passengers onboard while they towed it to the gate. Fire + Jet Fuel = Kaboom…not something I want to be near.

But there was no fire, only sparks.
Sparks + jetfuel inside the wings 30 feet behind the nosewheel = safe
