    So I imagine the higher the lever the less fun it would be to get hit with said round – but is there a more technical explanation of the levels? Just curious…

    @approximation: the levels have to do with what sort of protection is required to stop the bullets. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulletproof_vest#Performance_standards

    i’ve probably shot quite a few of those rounds. i used to have a .223- it was stolen. Mini 14.

    I don’t see any serious rifle rounds on the chart, so the .223 (although it can come in a pistol) was probably left off due to the fact that it is normally a rifle variant. Although some of those handgun loads I’d fear a LOT more than some rifles, like a .44 magnum over a .17 HMR. However, .44 mag vs .303 british or a 30-06 hot load? Depends on the range and if the damn thing’s pointed at me.
