Those might not be “swastikas”.Could be an old Nordic good luck symbol(can`t remember what their called,hrd-something).Then again,Granny could just be reliving her goosestepping days over again.

The swastika was originally a Buddhist symbol. Not a nordic symbol, I don’t think. Never heard that. In Buddhism, the swastika is a symbol of good luck. It was especially popular in a weaving design in many Japanese textiles, but not so much these days with the stigmas placed upon it from Nazi Germany.

FYI
Before Hitler ruined this symbol, it indeed was BOTH a Nordic good luck charm, but reversed it was a hindu symbol… Ironically , if I remember correctly, it meant something like bliss or heaven.
