Babylon is about 50-60 miles south of Baghdad.
You’re probably thinking of the ziggurat of Ur, which is the most complete ruins of a ziggurat extant, but there’s no historical evidence that that inspired the tower of bable, and there certainly were ziggurats in Babylon before the Persian invasion.
