If you’re on Vista, uninstall, reboot, and use privileged level to install. Or try setting all of your Adobe apps to run as ADMIN. You may have to find that app on the drive and do that, too.

If you’re on Vista, place an Windows XP Pro CD in your drive, reboot, and format.
