no, tiki. it is only illegal if you make the money “unfit to be reissued”

Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

actually, retailers will take just about anything provided there’s more than 50% of the bill present and it’s not a hundred because for some reason, no one in canada wants to take hundreds.

Actually they just don’t want to accept the $100 from YOU, I’ve never had a problem with my cash being accepted. Maybe it’s something to do with the sparkling personality and sunshiny happiness that you constantly display here in MCS.
