Looks to me like thats part of injuries she might have got during the invasion into her area and with said radiation, it could be a rad-infected wound
could also hint why she chose to suicide bomb, better that than wait to rot from the inside out from rad poisoning when most anti-rads would have been claimed by the army
silly thing is – that in a time of war, if there was a Sergeant or higher rank in that lot of russians, they would have given the order to shoot that lady if she came too close to the tank and not just sit there staring at her
