Dude that’s old school nowadays my hand is glued to f6 between every jump in a jumping puzzle.
Mario can be beat in less than a minute w/o hacks or cheats. Does christianity still speak to modern issues and modern people?
-
@Caio - really? less than a minute w/o hacks or cheats? I seem to recall the record speed run coming in right under 5 mins for SMB and that is by using level warps (which some people don’t even count in legitimately beating the game) Oh, and nothing about Christianity is modern, hence, why it has been around for centuries…
Comment by token2k6 — August 31, 2008 @ 8:56 pm

Wait, Christianity has been around for centuries BECAUSE it isn’t modern? Like the not modernity caused it to have existed before modern existed.
I’d love to live in whatever mental time warp you used to come up with that, Billy Pilgrim.
Also speed runs are nothing. Slow runs are all the rage here is my favourite:

Do you know what Obama will do if he becomes president? He will make defragmenting your computer illegal. Gradually your computer will get slower and slower as your computer has to put together your word documents by each individual zero and one. And after a couple months when your computer is too fragmented to use you will have to go buy a new one from the STATE OWNED COMPUTER company; that will be its name. And because there are no incentives with state monopoly they will only make Apple IIs.
Obama will FUCK UP this country.

I find it funny how a lot of people from the Obama camp bashes Palin on her “inexperience.” As if their top of the ticket doesn’t have enough experience himself.
-
@diabeetus
I’m not bashing her, asshole. I’m totally serious. I’ve seen the light and I’m switching sides.
I support John McCain because the US system of democracy is not working anymore. We need a psychotic, war-mongering, race-baiting, government-bankrupting leader to finish what Bush started and cause the total destruction of the economy, government and stability in the US. We need to essentially burn it all down to the ground and build it up again from scratch. The corporations that rule our lives will cease to exist along with half the world. Then we can rebuild. Best of all, since the majority of Republicans are old and weak and mollycoddled, they’ll be the first to go.

2 year old governor with mayorship experience in a small Alaskan town (pop. 9000) does not a president nor vice president make.
Wasilla, Alaska < Chicago, Illinois
when it comes to similarity to the rest of the nation.
I expect someone from a metropolitan area to know more about what the fuck is going on than I do a someone from a backwoods town in the middle of nowhere in a state that isn’t even attached to the rest of the nation. Same goes for Hawaii , they can govern their volcanoes, stay outta my white house though.Comment by 8870949 — August 31, 2008 @ 7:29 pm

The most Obama has done with his executive experience was being a “community organizer.” What the fuck does a “community organizer” do? I don’t think that qualifies him to be PRESIDENT of the United States.
Has Obama ever become Governor of a state? Has Obama ever took on his own party to fight corruption? The only thing Palin and Obama have in common is that they served the same number of years in their respective positions, two years.
-
Palin: I don’t know what a VP does all day. Yeah, seems like a good choice.

@ diabeetus
it is simply my opinion that someone working in the federal government knows more about what is going on than a person in a tiny executive position.

White people in Alaska still drink hooch made in bathtubs and when it’s windy they sleep in their cars because their “houses” aren’t much more than aluminum siding nailed to whatever driftwood occasionally washes ashore from like hundreds of miles south. This is a woman who ate arctic fox meat cooked over a quickly-made stone firepit fuelled by dry moss.
And that is experience we can trust.

I don’t pick my presidential candidates, or vice ones for that matter, from reruns of Northern Exposure.

Thank God it’s only your opinion, along with your fellow Obamaniacs. At least she ran something all throughout her life and brought reform every corner she turned. What was Obama’s statue in the Senate? How powerful was he? He only held a tiny seat in the U.S. Senate with tiny powers and as a result tiny experience.
And do I need to remind you? Palin’s the VP while Obama’s running for president. Where’s the argument in that?
Funny how the VP on the Republican ticket is more qualified than the presidential candidate on the Democrat ticket. You Democrats really are something you know that?
-
Haha — political arguments on the internet are hilarious. Everyone believes whatever comes from their “side”, and find something wrong with everything that comes from the other “side”, and everyone thinks their opinion is “right”. And none of it matters anyway, since whoever wins will A) have a gigantic existing mess to clean up, and B) won’t do 99% of the shit they promised anyway. But everyone is compelled to be on a “team” and root against the other “team”.
No wonder America is so fucked up. It’s full of wankers.

I agree with diabeetus. She ran the whole state of Alaska for 18 months, which has a population of almost that of Austin, TX. Plus its close to Canada and Russia, so she’s probably got international experience or something.
What’s Obama got? A few years as legislator in Illinois? A couple years in Congress? The last time we elected somebody with so little experience there was a fucking CIVIL WAR! Do you want that to happen again?Answer: maybe.

youre on to something there,
If i was in america and could vote, id pick some war monger over ObamaId rather have some psychotic dictator push USA to the limits until it hits rock bottom and the intelligent americans can rebuild it to be better next time, at least a leader who openly tells the nation what to do gets things done
lets face it, if Obama gets elected, every black person is going to have their ego triple in size and consider obama’s presidency as the green light to do what they want to other races
Usa is either going to have a race-based civil war of blacks versus all others,…or its going to become like south africa where every civilian has to carry an automatic firearm just to walk down the streetComment by KommissarKonrad — August 31, 2008 @ 9:23 pm

Yupiks got so much money from them priest lawsuits some of em used it to go out and buy themselves a dang generator.
What kind of Alaska is it where a white man can barely keep his kerosene lamp filled when a Yupik can clap his lights on and off?
—
Alaska is just a microcosm for the country. You got Palin growin up on rocks and half a ripped up blanket while Obama grew up in the mansion he bought with slave reparation money.
Yupik livin like kings now. When my granddaddy came to Alaska Yupiks couldn’t even take their complaints in front of a court because they did have last names and also they got lashins for being in town.
Somethin wrong with America. Yupiks livin like millionares ain’t how the founding fathers intended Alaska to be like.
-
The only reason I would say anything about Palin’s lack of experience is because the republicans themselves made such a big deal about Obama’s lack of xp. I don’t think it matters that much, myself.

And Reboot. Total Anarchy in ‘12. Hilarious! I love it!
Agree with fed v. state experience in general, but governor of a state is often a lead-in to the presidency, since it is executive rather than law-making experience.
I vote the person, not necessarily the experience. That goes for BOTH sides in this debate.
Great pic of the Veep candidate, though! Rowr!
