Officially run at 257mph, yes – verified by Guinness World Records on October 9, 2007. Theoretical top speed around 270 (in wind tunnel).
It’s also applied for the record for the highest emissions of any street legal car.
Somehow I think it’ll be a great deal more than $650k. The Bugatti Veyron runs at $1.2mil (before tax).
But if you notice something – only 25 of these will be sold. Only 300 Veyrons will be sold. And yet, the Koenigsegg CCXR will be sell as many that are bought. While the SSC and Veyron are essentially technological showcases, Koenigsegg actually bother to turn it into a profit. And the CCXR will get 1,018 bhp on biofuel (compared to 987 of the Veyron).
Have they had it run at those speeds or is it just theoretical?
