freedom from these iron bars! i’ve heard of these places. one of those internment camps where instead of dying, you can lift yourself up by the bootstraps and climb the social ladder out of genocide.

You always hear about all the jews that died in these camps, but not about any of the other people. I lost a uncle in Auschwitz, he fell asleep in a guard-tower and fell out.

Auschwitz had the same slogan above the gates, but written as a scrolling arch, not in blocks. It does look like the gate at Sachsenhausen. A replica was cast of the Auschwitz gate and is on display at the Holocaust museum in DC.
