My A-Level Design Tech project; storage unit shaped like the tetris blocks. It’s 1.3m high, 0.88m wide and it took me around 20 hours to cut, joint, assemble and paint it.

So much win it hurts.
June 16, 2008 at 3:35 pm
That’s some good work, I think I’ll have to copy that for my pad.

Primitive jointing. No dados. No rabbits. Looks like it’ll fall apart.
Norm would call that an epic fail…
LOL

Really, really cool idea. We need more weird shit like this in the world. I love funky DIY stuff.
June 16, 2008 at 4:10 pm
It looks cool, but I gotta agree with storminator. It needs to hold up some books, before it wins.
June 16, 2008 at 4:14 pm
it’s fabulous. don’t listen to those assholes.
June 16, 2008 at 4:32 pm
No. Silverflux, I am afraid you are wrong. It’s a good concept, and if it were just intedned to be, and not do anything, it would be fine. But it needs moar complecks woodworkingz.

no, lukev1-5, I am afraid you are wrong. The correct spelling would be “more complex woodworkings” you stupid fuck.
Awesome project by the way.

@ Chrishoff
How did you get in here? People like you are supposed to be at Ebaumsworld.
You have to be missing half your brain to not realize he intentionally misspelled that. The wave of the interwebs is to spell grammar incorrectly. (See LOLcats)
So ultimately, you fail.
June 16, 2008 at 6:40 pm
thanks for that website!

@ Adrominik
So you are telling me that the popular thing to do on the internet is spell words incorrectly? I don’t see how intelligence will cause you to fail. Maybe in this fake world of the internet. You sure are helping out society by doing this. So many people rely on the internet for learning and if you are going to purposely spell words wrong because it is the hip thing to do than you need to check yourself. No wonder the upcoming generation is so ridiculously unintelligent. These fucking internet junkies need to get in touch with reality.

i find it hysterical that i encouraged the OP, got shot down, the dude who shot me down got shot down, then that dude got shot down, and then smart dude shot all y’all down and all of this over a shelf some kid made in wood shop to get a grade, not to hold books.
it’s still fabulous. he doesn’t have to dovetail to win at life, ya bitches.
June 16, 2008 at 11:57 pm
@ chrishoff
If you’re hell-bent on spelling everything correctly instead of using internet misspell-speak, then why did you write “@ Adrominik” instead of “At Adrominik”? Make up your mind, r-tard.
In other news, I vote WIN for the shelf. Cool if it actually can handle books, but if not, consider it a non-functional work of art, a la Peter Voulkos, but prettier. Besides, if you put books or other trinkets on it, you don’t get the full effect of the background colors.

@mizuki
STFU! Nobody wants to hear about your gratidudes!
Since this thread is about shootin’ people down, I’m just trying to keep the coal burnin’.

Chrishoff.
What exactly is your point.
Personally I believe that you do not have one. You realised your mistake, as Adrominik pointed out, and now you’re scrabbling for some other argument to latch onto in order to save face.
If your new argument is in fact genuine, then I believe is is high time that you got the fuck out. Half this site is lolcats and memes.
June 17, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Storminator, do you actually realise that it’s not assembled or even jointed in the bottom picture? That was just the only picture I had of it unpainted. And considering the wood I used was only 18mm thick, I think that a housing joint (or a “dado”, as you called) would make the wood too thin on one side.
I used biscuit joints and dowel joints which I think are some of the strongest you can use, so trust me, the whole thing is pretty damn stable. If you like, I’ll post a picture of it filled with books, DVDs, CDs, etc.
Would that satisfy you?
June 17, 2008 at 2:15 pm
It would satisfy me. I thought you had just, like, nailed it together. If you catch my drift.
And so I was like, fail.
