    Yes, this is what they used to fashion the Star Wars Han Solo Pistol.

    Yep. Add a scope and a flash surpressor and you get the good ol’ Blastec DL-44.

    They were firing blanks on set. Check the “making of” footage (wherever you can find it). Stormtrooper rifles were also a real gun. If you watch the original VHS (or Laserdisc, if you’re lucky), you can see the ejecting cartridges.
