This is the world’s only 7 star hotel. it is located in Dubai. I can’t remember what it’s called though.

It’s the Burj al Arab (Tower of the Arabs), in, as chaingunner said, Dubai. It is also the tallest hotel in the world, but if memory serves there’s another hotel under construction (also in Dubai) that will be even taller.

I encourage US energy independence if only to prevent the UAE from building more 7 star resorts. Buy hybrids! Drill Alaska!

I agree with Tony… These is where all the oil money goes… as then know they are almost out! We need to stop depending on others… it allows them to control us..
be green, be independent, and stick it to OPEC!

Hold on there Chachi, I was being sarcastic. A quick trip to Wikipedia will inform us that the Dubai only gets 6% of it’s GDP from oil and gas exports. They have been building their economy in other ways, mainly through trade and financial services.
I was poking fun at isolationists and greenies. American energy independence is still important, and the only way we’ll get it is if we reduce our consumption, expand domestic production, and research/develop future alternatives. That means adopting seemingly conflicting measures because they have been labeled “Democratic” and “Republican”. But the answer needs to be comprehensive. It’s too bad we don’t have a Henry Clay for our age.

They get their money by having an underclass of slave labour.
Oil has fuck all to do with it. OPEC is a global group…not just Arabic countries.
In the UAE Dubai is looked at as a shithole because its a den o’sin. Nothing but upper middle class brown kids and Russian whores from what I hear. Years ago I worked at a big company with an office there and tried to get transfered but it never happened.

There was a LOT of Eurotrash working there, at least at the malls, when I was in Dubai in late ’05. Lots of HAWT Eurotrash.
The whores that I ran into (but didn’t hire; you’re about to see why) were from…
drumroll please…
…Somalia (!?)
Go figure, eh?
Aside from that, and the fact that it’s located in the middle east, Dubai was pretty nice. They’re big on visual aesthetics over there.
