“Justice” in this country is inversely proportional to how much money you have. The rich and powerful rarely serve time for the most heinous of crimes (see: OJ, Robert Blake, Scooter Libby, Oliver North) and the poor spend a disproportionate amount of their lives behind bars often for completely consensual “crimes” (see: any state prison in the US).

I guess we’re just used to it here. It’s the way it’s always been throughout history, and our society hasn’t evolved to the point we all think it’s supposed to be. No one here really seems to care, there’s always something more “important” to worry about (see: fags marrying, abortion, flag burning, etc.)

This is actually the least freaky picture of her I’ve ever seen. Usually she has a scary bug-eyed monster going to devour your soul kind of look. In the newspapers at least.

The same way everyone ignored the fact that a family friend of the Bush's (Kenneth Lay) got busted for bank fraud, money laundering, and insider trading. I'd expect that any sane individual would realize that all politically connected people have friends that are not on the "up and up".
