Actually, the glass is indeed below 50% capacity. Take note of the “punt” of the glass, the convex glass area bounding up from the bottom of the glass (as seen in beer bottles), and the narrowed bottom of the glass shape itself.

Meaning the less space there is, the less water there is to fill that space. So for it to be half full, it would have to have water visibly beyond 50%.

I think that if youÃ¢â‚¬â„¢re drinking from it, itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s half empty; and if youÃ¢â‚¬â„¢re filling it up with water, then itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s half full.

I think that if you’re drinking from it, it’s half empty; and if you’re filling it up with water, then it’s half full.

The glass is completely full. It is roughly half full of water and half full of air.
