there was a marvel series called “civil war” where tony stark aka Ironman pushes for all superheroes to register their real names with the govt. so the superheros are split into two factions. Iron man and pro registration on one side, and Captain America and the anti-legislation on the other side. Eventually the two sides square off and Capt kicks the fuck out of Ironman but Capt sees how much damage the battle did to the city and the people so he turns himself in.

They put Captain america on trial and on the way into court he is killed by a sniper.

So Ironman killed captain america and now he feels bad about it.
