tiki god on May 28th, 2008 9:53 am
taxes really do play a part, but not as large as futures trading. From what I understand the largest holder of American petroleum futures is Merrill Lynch. Want to see the guys responsible for your high prices? Head down to the local futures exchange and take a good long look.

@ tiki god:
HERE HERE! I have been telling EVERYONE I know that the Future's Fucktards are the ones most responsible for the a$$ raping us Americans (and Europe) are taking everytime we go to the pump. You are the first person I have seen and/or heard from (that includes all the idiot analysists on TV) that says what I have been saying all along!
FINALLY, someone with some logic and brains!
Tiki...You are the man!

I can't believe I agree with mAgnUS...well, at least his first comment since I'm not going to tempt fate. But yeah, we pay less per gallon, but we use so much more that it evens out. I had a student from Denmark tell me (this was about 9 or 10 years ago) that if he wanted to drive somewhere, he'd borrow a friend's car and put a few gallons in it, and it would get him to the other end of his country. Granted, it seems to fly in the face of supply and demand, but the high price makes up for the lack of use; it's one more reason why oil companies are evil.

What I want to know is, how much do they pay in Oslo for a grande cappuccino at Starbucks? If it's $10 or more, then I'll feed bad.

Oh...every time I've ever explained futures or short selling to anyone their first question is "is that legal?".

The fact that it seems illegal should be a strong clue that it ain't right.

They could cap it by leveraging the charges over to those driving the prices up.

really borandi?

You think so?

It doesn't make sense that some people commute in Canada for 2 hours to get to work and have for over 20 years and simply can't afford to pay these prices and keep their jobs therefore in the interest of protecting its citizens and economy the Canadian government should cap the price of gas?

Because in most European countries if you drive for 2 hours you're either in another country or the fucking ocean.

So use those two active brain cells you must have for something other than convincing hobos to let you jerk them off and think about this before making a completely fucking stupid ass comment like that.

btw: its called gas motherfuckers. Calling it petrol is like calling a fucking cell phone your mobile. Unless you're over 65 or a king kong sized faggot then save your stupid shit eating linguistic buttfuckery for when you're in the safety of a Starbucks.

...@reboot
Yes. Just like Dave Attell said (or more specifically the dinosaur he posits we'll find when the polar ice caps melt in his dissertation on the possible bonuses of global warming) Mexicans are the next burnable fuel source.

Quote Nimbo:
Are those prices from like 4 years ago?

Did you not fucking see where it says 'A (2005) look'?

At Magnus: So what, the price of your petrol should be in relation to how big the country is? That's a stupid dumb ass comment, if ever there was one.

I think this is quite relevant, even if it is outdated, becuase currently some of the motorways in England are blocked off by Lorry Drivers who are protesting against the crazy price of petrol.

It is true Sansbutt, our government does tax us to hell, and that's basicly why we have such high fuel prices. I mean, the British have a fucking Oil field off it's north shore which provides more than enough petrol for all of us. We're currently paying £1.30 a litre (that's $2.57 in your puwny do-wars). It's fucking ridiculous.
