I found this apple to be a little different than the others. It is not a sticker, it is the skin.

    It starts out as a sticker, which blocks the sunlight from getting to the apple in certain areas.
    The rest ripens, the covered bits don’t.

    It’s not that it doesnt ripen, its that the pigments don’t do their job. Just like white asparagus, it’s grown in a dark room.

    p.s. mmm mocha frappachino.

    White asperagus is not grown in a dark room. I live in a place where it is in season right now and they grow it in the ground. It is called Spargel in Germany and it is delicious. MMMMM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spargel
