Hellboy II Movie Poster

I didn’t like the first one, but the trailer and this movie poster are making me think that maybe the sequel won’t be as bad as the first one

    1. Oh Christ spare me. Where the fuck do these people keep getting these millions upon millions of dollars from to make horribly shitty movies? Can’t they put it to better use? Fuck, give me HALF that much and I could come up with an Academy Award for Best picture of the year.

    2. The only problem I had with the first one was the Nazis. Ok have Nazis be the bad guys, just why do they have to be satanic? Are Nazis not bad enough for you as it is?

    3. @Drewlicious: because the comic book has evil satanic Nazis!
I read Hellboy comics almost from the very beginning, thought the first movie was pretty ok and I’m really looking forward to this one.
I’ll even throw down the gauntlet: I think Hellboy 2 will be better than Dark Knight.

    6. I saw the trailer for this in the theater. I was like OMG this movie looks awesome – what is it? It had the dark look and feel of Pans Labyrinth… then they showed Hellboy and my heart sank. Part of this movie looks awesome, and part… not so much. Not sure if it will be good or not.

    7. I’m totally serious.
Watch the trailer for DK: the only thing visually interesting in the Joker and even that is still kind of ‘meh’.
Compare to the Hellboy II trailer: nearly everything single frame of that trailer is kickass enough that you could turn it into a poster.
Batman Begins was ok, especially compared to other Batman movies, but if you take away the costumes its basically just another Die Hard rip-off.
Hellboy completely stands alone in style, characters, setting and visuals. The fight in the subway alone makes the movie awesome.

    8. Hellboy was decent. I can’t say it was a masterpiece of cinematography, but neither was it complete fail. Hellboy2 looks to be better by far because they’re adding in more of the dark supersticious tones of the comic books. It’s hard to retain the comic’s darkly cynical style in live action because the star will always be a grumpy, bulky red guy with a brick hand. They seem to pull it off through his enemies instead. After watching Pan’s Labyrinth, I can honestly say that nobody is better suited to bring that style to film than G. del Toro.

    9. To those who say they could make a better movie themselves, I say bullshit. If you COULD make a better movie, you WOULD. But you can’t. All you can do is sit in front of your computer and brag about how you could do it better. I have to wonder, do you say that while watching porno movies, too?

    10. Every frame of the HB2 trailer screams “Trying too hard to be weird and different” and it falls completely flat.

    11. Oh yeah? Well fuck your opinion, mine is better. I can prove it with science.

you’re totally right. why can’t Hollywood make more movies that try to be the same and normal?

I bet you absolutely loved Juno for how different and quirky it was.

I actually haven’t seen it, but are you trying to insult me? Just about every critic gave it positive reviews and it did win an Oscar, so I would guess that it is a decent movie. If you’re the only person who doesn’t like a movie, maybe the problem is with you.

    16. Juno? different and quirky?

I really didn’t get the from Juno. I got “old and overused ideal of what is different and quirky” put onto film.

    17. Hellboy sucked. Period. I nearly fell asleep in the theater. The only thing keeping me awake was the guy yelling, “GOD I WISH THIS FILM WOULD JUST *END* ALREADY SO I COULD GO HOOOME!”

      That guy was me.

I agree about Juno. Mostly I’m not impressed by smart-alecky teenagers who show far too much wisdom than teenagers actually do, especially when they sound like Wendy Whiner with a sinus infection.

The only character I really liked was Jennifer Garner’s, and I hate everything she’s been in. I like that we’re supposed to hate her because of her being such a controlling, socially-paralyzed fussbudget, but she turns out to be the only responsible one with any sense of life goals.

In sum, teens are stupid and films about them should reflect their poor decision-making skills, lack of musical knowledge, and the itchiness that comes with growing fresh pubes.

    19. maybe the whole nazi satanic thing is from the fact that a lot if not all of the high ranking officials of the third reich had a thing for the ocult.
