    I’m callin’ shenanigans.

    All I see is something that MIGHT look like a shield to someone who wants desperately for one to be there.

    But I remain unconvinced.

    Looks like a computer display with a three-pointed thing at the “top” (if you’re facing it, looking right) which is definitely *above* the display. I agree with pauld that you want desperately for it to be there, but it’s just not.

    On top of it looking like something other than a shield, I’d have to be convinced that the producers weren’t idiots to put a CA shield there for shits ‘n’ giggles anyway.

    I think it’s just a pile of junk that seems to take a vague resemblance of the shield, but it could have been placed like that intentionally, if nothing more to make all you nerds get their hopes up. I think the first is more likely though.

    (not to say that im not a nerd, using it more as a general term)

    I doubt the director put it there, if it is anything its more likely an effects guy.

    But I think it’s just a pile of stuff that sort of looks like a shield if you want it too.

    Well, after being a dirty, dirty pirate and viewing the scene in question, I can safely conclude that Cap’s shield is in fact in the scene. Not a pile of junk, not a computer screen, not a hoax, not an imaginary story.

    It hasn’t got the rings from C.America’s shield, and it hasn’t got the star, it looks nothing like his shield.

    It has the rings… and the star. The bottom of the star is being blocked by a desk lamp. You realize Cap’s shield isn’t flat, right? It’s convex.

    That gif seems to prove that it IS the shield. Everything lines up exactly from what I can see, including the outer circle and the star pattern.

    Do you have glasses? Are they clean?

    It’s his little LCARS dealio… Come on ppl, at this point we haven’t even been introduced to CA yet… He just freakin’ finished his suit, so he can’t have actually killed him before he gets his suit working right now can he… Sheesh…

    Its sooo Caps shield, Marvel have been gagging to make an Avengers movie. Marvel have a lot planned. They are doing an Antman [Hank Pym] movie and a Thor movie…and there has been speculation of a Captain America film. Wouldn’t all those films have all the charterers required for a classic Avengers movie.

    The shield pictured is probably one of the imperfect shields that Tony cloned for S.H.I.E.L.D. Like the one that US agent used.

    Iron Man 2, Ant Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers have all been confirmed for release over the next 5-7 years. All written and produced inhouse at Marvel, much like Iron Man was.

    it’s going to be a fun time to be a comic book fan :)

    Don’t be dumb guys, in the movie Tony had no relation to any super heroes at all until the very end; and I mean after the credits end. Why would the shield be in his possession? It makes no sense.

    Also, let’s face it this isn’t the worst thing you’ve caught me doing.

    Just got back from seeing the movie for a third time, this time knowing when, where, and what to look for, and on a giant-ass cinema screen no less.

    No doubt about it now. Feel free to speculate as to the why and how, but that is Captain America’s shield on Tony Stark’s work table. Fuck yes.

    The makers of the film have confirmed that yes the shield was in the film, but as an easter egg for the fans and nothing more. And it was removed from the trailer for obvious reasons.
