  1. I believe this is actually a red-winged blackbird attacking a red-tailed hawk. Generally gangs of birds swarm hawks to drive them away, to protect themselves and their young. They have both if these birds where I am from back in Colorado, tho I have only seen small birds driving crows away. Hawks can usually do whatever the fuck they want.

  2. @aproximation
That’s exactly what I thought of too. Colorado has loads of both of these birds.

  3. Holy shit. It’s my confined national geographic.
Next thing you know, you’ll see Steve Irwin trying to stick his finger in both of their asses.
    Crikey!

According to Wikipedia: Modern birds are characterised by feathers, a beak with no teeth, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high metabolic rate, a four-chambered heart, and a lightweight but strong skeleton. All birds have forelimbs modified as wings and most can fly, with some exceptions including ratites, penguins, and a number of diverse endemic island species.

  5. Ha ha Kero!
Also, according to the dictionary ancient birds, as opposed to non-ancient or ‘modern’ birds, are dead or deceased, meaning they are no longer living. ~:P

  6. Bird can also be used as a verb meaning to observe or identify wild birds in their natural habitat, as in “I am going to go birding now.”

  7. Will it take off? Apparently yes.
