Yes it’s sad…sad that there’s still something alive there. The Japs had it coming. Rape of Nanjing and the complete devistation of anything near the Changjiang (or however I’m supposed to spell it) (one of the most populated parts of China thorought history) happened long before Pearl Harbour. As did the complete devastation of Korea and pretty much anything else the Japanese could manage to touch around the pacific rim.
If you want to talk about out of control sick nationalism, the WWII-era fascists were the peak of it, man. Nationalism has never been sicker and more destructive than what the Japanese, Germans and Italians made it.

Nationalism has nothing to do with it. See, the Japanese don’t get to complain about getting bombed. They attacked first, without provocation. (And spare me your it wasn’t a surprise attack drivel–that’s been well discredited. You probably think 9/11 was a conspiracy thought up by Bush & co.) And they’d been massacring millions in China for years. You don’t get to do that, and then complain about being bombed later. It just doesn’t work that way.
As for Iraq, I don’t recall them doing anything bad to us, so they DO get to complain about being bombed. We were in the wrong there. Afghanistan doesn’t get to complain, because they were harboring the Taliban who were involved with Al Qaeda and 9/11.
But Japan can just suck it, and suck it hard. They practically begged to be bombed after their unprovoked Pearl Harbor attack.

Actually, I should also point out that the concept that the US had advance knowledge of the PH attack but let it occur just so we could join WWII (which we would have done anyway–U Boats were schwacking our shipping, and public sentiment was overwhelming in favor) is just shockingly retarded, and easily debunked:
Why would we let them sink 5 battleships, 2 destroyers, take out a couple hundred aircraft, and kill a couple thousand people, when all it would have taken was to “coincidentally” have all our planes up in the air on a “training exercise” that could have then taken out the incoming aircraft??? NOBODY WOULD SIT BY AND LET THAT HAPPEN!! You’d let the Japs try to attack, then you’d take them out, and go to war based on their attempted attack, with all your ships and planes intact.
Honestly, your IQ has to be like 15 or so to believe we knew about the attack and let it happen. Retard.

I believe you’ll find this picture is from LIFE magazine, and the story was about, “The Rape of Nanking,” (now known as Nanjing.) This was part of Japan’s conquest of parts of China in the 1930′s and has nothing to do with the US, which was an officially neutral nation at that time.

It was taken by a chinese photographer working for the AP (i think). It was a japanese bombing of a chinese train station that hundreds of innocent chinese used as a place of refuge.
