“Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, I know why those ideals were put into the same sentence. Their fragile fate intertwines to form the foundation of something stronger. Spirit I think. Hunger too, that they might each fulfill one another. Without one, they independently starve and drive men mad, suffocating all attempts to exist independently until wild men violently rise up and lay claim to their missing endowment. This is how phrases like “Death first!” and “…but one life to give…” find their way to the lips of men.
