She said they could put their hands into the tank and play with it, and it was intelligent. She told me this story, about how a lawyer or something was visiting their house, and was peering into the tank to see what was in it, and then out of nowhere the octopus flew out of it's hiding place into the man's face, which was inches from the glass. They are beautiful though, but one bite can kill and it is a nasty way to go. Steelfeather is right. Octopuses are notorious for escaping tanks. If their beak can fit through a crack, then they can squish their hole body through. They are quite intelligent and require stimuli so they don't get bored.
