I own one, its ok for backpacking or long treks at the family ranch. Mine has seen a lot of use, have to be careful not to lose the magazine(retaining spring wore out) takes 2 rounds to resight every time I re-assemble it. fun, check your local shops, they might have a decent one in on trade…

Exactly, this isn’t a PDW, it’s a survival rifle. Big difference. They are designed for completely different things. It’s like comparing a survival knife to a Katana…

It wasn’t designed to shoot bad guys with. It was designed to be light to carry and to keep your stomach full. I wouldn’t want to eat a rabbit that was shot with an MP7.

Points Made, The Noevelty of it, As all noevelties do, will fade. As for the price, Henry Arms lists it for about $224. If I were shot down, I’d much prefer an Mp7, (Anyone seen “Stealth”?)

The Ar-7 is a bad ass little rifle. Eugene Stoner (the guy that did up the M-16) designed it for downed pilots as a survival rifle.

Who cares if it’s a plastic .22? I’d get one purely for the kick of it. I don’t think anyone here has any great expectations of it’s abilities beyond the novelty of it’s design. Which I, for one, would like to see more of, thank you very much…
