As long as there are only 2 parties, it will always be like this.

What? Is there something wrong with politicians getting along socially? I argue about politics with most of my friends, but we still get along. Do you really expect the Clintons and Bushes to be going to street wars with bottles and chains every time they see each other? That fact that they get along on a personal level is a good thing and sign of a mature society.

@ reboot: What a silly question: Do you really expect the Clintons and Bushes to be going to street wars with bottles and chains every time they see each other? I do.
But I must say that my expectations are always shattered in this regard. Just once, at a debate or social gathering, I would like someone to pull out a chain and whip it into the other guys skull or even a surprise knife fight would make my day.

Because only blind hatred of corporations is a valid political platform.
Get a job, hippie fuck.

Actually El_Chup, it’s more about sitting down with those corps and saying “Well, you bought me fair & square, what sort of legislation do you need passed in the next four years?” that’s the problem.
That, and meeting with our “allies” who we let harbor terrorists with impunity because they have more money invested in America than America does.
