Ozymandias has costume nipples. Have they learned nothing from the tragedy that was Batman & Robin?

These costumes suck cock and gargle cum.

oh shit, I know what I did, and unfortunately I kinda fucked it all up. Imagine that this never happened, and there’s only one image up there. The others are sadly deleted from the server now, dammit.

ok, so. these costumes are fucking great. ozymandias with nipples? how about it echoes the design of roman and greek armor. nite owl with a paunch? awesome. the comedian? spot-fucking-on.

i’m totally excited for this movie.

I have to agree, Dram. Ozmandias thinks he’s Alexander the Great. Of course his costume has nipples. Comedian looks spot-on. Night Owl looks a little too Batman for me, but not too bad. I can’t wait to see this.

No sir, I don’t like them. The whole point of Watchmen is that, with the exception of Dr. Manhattan, they’re just regular people. It’s the “Daredevil” problem: how did these regular people get fancy vacu-formed latex fake-muscled costumes?

    Tony

Mayy, what the hell are you talking about?

The Comedian’s costume is spot on. Ozymandias’ costume is a little complex, but the character itself was flashy and attentive to details. The Silk Spectre’s costume can be purchased at Fredrick’s, and Rorschach’s at Good Will. I’m guessing you’re complaining about Nite Owl’s then. But it has obvious zippers, the cowl seperates from the main costume a little too much, and he has a paunch (as dram noticed earlier). But if Nite Owl has the resources to build and maintain a hovering aircraft, he can afford a somewhat decent costume.

Fuck, you guys are just jumping on the “Alan’s gonna hate it, so I’m gonna hate it too” bandwagon. Get this straight, there is no pleasing Moore in adapting his comics to a movie. There never will be. He believes his stuff should only exist in the graphic novel medium.

    Mayyday

I suppose. I’ll give you that the Comedian is spot-on. Ozymandias needs more flow-y robes and less rubber muscles. Silk Spectre is passable.

As you said, I’m mostly concerned about Nite Owl. Charlton/Blue Beetle analogues notwithstanding, I get that visually, he’s got a Batman motif going on. But I don’t like that they felt the need to ape the movie Batman suits.

On a minor note, I know we can’t tell from still photos, obviously, but I’m hoping Rorschach’s “face” moves.

And yeah, there’s simply no pleasing Moore in terms of comic-to-film adaptations. There never will be. Fans need to move past that.

Isn’t the pleasing Moore thing about how a story that is written basically for a comics medium is then being transfered to a new medium film, which is completely different. Where will the comic within a comic fit in to the film? Where will the typography at the end of each chapter fit into the movie? This is where the reader learns the history of the characters and the world in which they live and removing these change the mood of the story. How are they going to compress a book that is incredibly long into the movie that will be incredibly short in comparison? Unless it is divided into more parts then one. 300 was about twenty pages and it took the director about 2 hours to explain. All the characters are not spot on unless the movie will be a cartoon. Making a comic real loses a sense of connectedness to the characters. The story will be a completely different story then watchmen but it will have the same characters shown in different lights. I will probably see it though to see if it is a well done movie. Please read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud or some other media gurus not journalism media but television versus books or comic book. Just one more point a comic is in your hands you can spend 5 seconds to 10 minutes on a single frame then move at your own pace to the next one but a film goes at the directors pace and not your own and you can not go back and look again unless you rewatch it or rewind it or slowmo it but comics are completely different because it only takes a flip of the page to go back and learn rather then having to watch the whole movie again.

Actually, if one thing I hated in the comics, is the costumes.
