Looks like “Cristo Rei” statue in Lisboa. I’ve been there, it’s impressive; IIRC it’s one of the world’s tallest statues (if you consider also the pedestal).

It’s too bad that, looking at it from the Baixa, it’s together with a bunch of ugly industrial-looking boat-loading equipment things. Lisboa is such a beautiful city, it’s such a shame that the Left Bank is so goddamned ugly.

Jesus… no, I can’t say that I mind him personally. I don’t see what he has done to change anything for the better, but maybe I am being a little too “materialistic”.

Now the Roman / Italian mafioso that have used Jesus as a tool to scam cash from the rest of the world… yeah. I have a problem with them.

This is the Christ the Redeemer statue from Rio de Janeiro. Part of the new world wonders. Pffff
