    That’s a Sturmtiger, armed with a 38 cm SturmMörser naval mortar (does SturmMörser mean Storm Mortar?). I saw that particular one at the Deutsches Panzermuseum in Munster, Germany when my dad was stationed near there.

    Honestly, what is the point of that little machine gun on the left?

    Mortar rounds are great against infantry and armor over extended distances, however cannot be effectively used against infantry at close range without possibly blowing yourself up.
    The MG was used to defend the tank against infantry armed with Light Antitank Weapons at close range.
