The F-22 Raptor fighter was designed to be an air superiority multi-role fighter, theoretically able to out-fly, out gun and generally outperform all existing and anticipated air threats of the near future, as well as provide limited multi-role functionality, like air to ground support and such.
It delivers on almost all of those requirements. It is a super fighter in many respects, combining many different advanced technologies to produce a very capable aerial weapons platform. The link below has a good explanation of the major technologies that went into the F-22:
