If the one who planned the wiring did it right, you wouldn’t ever need to mess with this once it’s done. At least not here anyway.

Port specific changes can usually be performed at the switch. If you have to change the physical length of a run to a specific station or stations, there is usually a section of slack cable built into the cabling at some point in the cabletray.

So in essence, unless you have to make some major change, like reconstructing the entire office, (or moving the server room to the basement) you should never have to touch this again…

the first thing i thought when i saw that was “we need to move the server room to the basement next week, but it should be easy since you guys just cleaned everything up”
