Spy kids was actually atypical of the role he usually plays. His forte seems to be lesser really, really, mean bad guys. AFAIK, don't think he's done any leading roles, but he's actually a good actor, so I'm actually looking forward to seeing him in this. I do find it funny that the movie is called Machete, that was also the name of his invention company in Spy Kids... Actually Danny Trejo is a rather prolific actor.
