The phrase “war dogs” really does roll off the tongue quite well.

Sadly, I too have fallen victim to the previous-person-pointed-out-one-of-the-dogs-was-named-nig syndrome. Woe is me.

considering how dogs in combat and their trainers lived because of them, they deserve this
I remember seeing something on the history channel about how an american soldier in vietnam came under fire, and his dog jumped down in front of him and took a round in the back of the head that would have otherwise hit him
on a similar note, I have seen a court case where a cop set his dog to chase down a criminal, and the guy whipped out a knife and stabbed the dog and got away.
Luckily the dog lived, and they later caught the guy, and gave him the same sentence as if he tried to kill a police officer.
Dogs do get in some hardcore crap for us, respect them.
