    It’s the fast fuse of the pop culture icon. It starts with a cult following. It gains popularity and goes mainstream. Then, it becomes over-exposed and we begin to dislike it. After that, we say that we never liked it. Dane Cook is in the latter stages of this progression. His baseball playoff commercials helped expedite this process (for me).
    The cool thing to do now would be to say that you disliked him before I did.

    I WANT to like him. I want to say, “He’s cute AND funny.” I can’t. He has never once made me laugh. And that makes him less cute.
