    1. Why? THey both look like Tony Shaloub.

    2. Tony Shalhoub is the biggest badass around.

    4. Hey egnilk66, why does Magnus Buttforwhateverhisdamnnameis have such issues with you?

    5. It all goes back to a comment he made on a pic of a Muay Thai fighter… Go find it….you’ll love it.

He said, “Kicking is for girls” or something ignorant like that.

The guy, if he is male, is super smart, quick-witted and has a vocabulary like Webster, so there’s not much to be said that he doesn’t just twist into a bag of pretzels.

    8. I did Kenpo for about 10 years, enjoyed the hell out of it. As for Magnus, he seems very angry, tho, as you said, he does seem rather intelligent. Maybe he doesn’t poop enough either like casemods.

    10. I hope you don’t mean me… I’d prefer never to hear another word from him again.

    11. OK, this conversation is full of fail in relation to the picture. Lets keep posting on how badass these two are and how much we all want to throttle their mancandies.

      Reply

    12. But, I don’t want to throttle anyone’s mancandy but my own.

      Reply

    13. If by throttle mancandy, you mean beat the living piss out of the stupid direction they took it, then yes. I like how Nathan thought he had to fly Peter up in season 1 finale, I mean, halfway thru the series the thought occurred to me (possibly earlier, I don’t care enough to figure it out) that PETER HIMSELF CAN FLY. Way to make your brother risk his life. I swear, younger brothers….

    14. yeah, but now his ass is jumping around in time with that IRA girl. His brother can’t save his ass this time!

    15. @Schultz

We talked about that ‘around the water cooler’ here at work for days after the finale last season – the general consensus boiled down to:

Peter was unable to control his powers at that point so he couldn’t either fly up himself OR turn off the nuke…

    16. Yeah, but that’s such a pile of shizz. The general defining characteristic of any good hero/man (or woman) is confidence, so he needs to learn how to control his powers. It’s either his insecurity or something, or panic, because he KNOWS he can do it, it’s not an on/off switch his body has, like that dopey shit in Spider-man (the first one?) when his wrist-jizzers don’t work. It’s a pathetic cop-out, or a weak character. I tolerate neither in a good show.

    17. LOL, wrist-jizzers…

Anyway, I don’t disagree that he neds to get a grip on his abilities – it would make him an even stronger character in the show. That was just to explain why he had to have Nathan fly him up last season when he was still coming to terms with (and trying to control) all his powers.

    18. STill, they’ve been milking the “i can’t control my powers” thing well into the new season. Give me a break, Rogue was a runaway halfwit with hormone overload and she still managed to control powers she was stealing from others AS SOON AS SHE GOT THEM. He’s had most of his stolen abilities for months and when he tries to use them all he manages to do is look constipated.

    19. Yeah, I see it from that standpoint, but I tend to pick the character I most identify with, or would like to be if I were in the show. In “Heroes” it’s definitely Peter, and, on that line of thought, I love how they made Claire his niece. Totally botched any chance he has of getting in her pants without a totally icky feeing afterwards.

Back to Spider-man. Yeah, I didn’t like how the movie made him such a clumsy geek boy, from what I recall of the comics, he was a smart guy, and a smartass, and he MADE the web shooters, and I like that concept more than them being some burn-mark-looking thing on his wrist that’s just included. Granted, it works better to just include them as part of his powers, but that’s something I think could have not changed the story that much, granted, then we wouldn’t have had that epic scene of him standing on a rooftop shouting “Flame on!” when they don’t work. God knows writers in Hollywood don’t make enough to think of another way to show his lack of confidence.

    20. That and he seems to have gotten his ability to speak from the movie “Rocky.” I know that’s why he played Jackoff Balboa in the newest movie, which I didn’t see, so I can’t comment on how good/bad it was. Seriously, he has that one corner of his mouth that hangs like he just had a stroke, just like Stallone.

    21. Oh yeah, and I read on the internet (so it must be true) that he got dumped by Alexis Bledel because he beat her or something. ASS!

    22. Again, LOL Schultz!

I feel the same about the X-men movies… I have been reading the comics since the days you could still buy them in the stores for 10 cents each… I was severly disappointed in some of the ‘artistic license’ they took with the charachters and plot/time lines… Oh well, all we can do is protest by not buying them and hope they will ‘listen’ and do better next time (which will never work because too many people out there watch for the action, not the story in these types of movies).

    23. OH, and so far I tend to be identifying with Parkman the most… Other than the divorce part, his life seems to match mine pretty well back when I was a cop in the Air Force…

    24. Don’t get me started about the Spider-man movies. They’ve managed to do to them what they do to all comic/movie adaptations. Which is gut the storyline/continuity of the series and try to call it a “reimagining” of the original. I mean for Jeebus’ sake, the goblin looked like a friggin snowboarder in the last one! I am so fed up with the X-tremification of every last bit of culture. Enough already! I get it, they like red bull and hurt themselves a lot. Christ, Bhuddha and Allah save us.

    25. Ah yes, the X-men. They let a fat, stupid hack who was Brian Singer’s current pillow biter, and had previously done nothing but Hohan movies faaack it up six ways from sunday.

    26. Where were you stationed chaosmfx?

      Reply

    27. Yeah, the X-Men I wasn’t into so much, the only comics I read with any sort of steady continuity was The Punisher and his various titles, and other than knowing the basics of all the mutants, I didn’t know too much about the storylines, so the movies didn’t such hardcore for me, other than the costumes being leather, which, I understand the colorful comic nature of them not working on the big screen, but I think there is some sort of happy medium they could have reached. I agree with Hugh Jackman tho, I would probably stride thru hellfire to get at Famke Janssen.
