Oh right, we were actually talking about useless suits. While I believe in a free market economy, I think these ass clowns have much justification for their greed. There is no way anyone on this blue earth why anyone needs to have more than $1 Million dollars spending cash. They are not just stealing from the employees, they are stealing from the investors that got them where they are. I don't understand how they get away with it, other than the fact that those with the power to stop it, are in on it themselves. If it wasn't for television, I think there would have been a revolution a long time ago. But who want to sit in jail when you can watch a 42" TV bought on credit.

reboot, I used to think the same as you about this, but I've come to see the bigger picture: Those starving people in Cambodia should stop having so many fucking kids, if they can't afford to feed them. That's how it works. You have the offspring that you can afford to support and no more.

Instead, you get people "escaping" their homelands, to come to western nations as "refugees" so they can "build a better future for their children" (which they may not even have yet). Stop making us feel guilty for our success at controlling our alcohol consumption (ie, prosperity).

Here's an idea, stay in your homeland, work to make it better (rather than running away from all your problems, THEN have all the crotch fruit you want.

So, what were we talking about again?

M-3, interesting analysis, but as I pointed out, these numbers only represent the 50 largest corporations in the US. So take Home Depot, for example, which has 355,000 employees. If you divide up the money as you describe, each employee would only get 25 bucks.
Also think about this: at $30,000 the average America makes 100 times the average person in Cambodia. Most of it is spent on things like a second car, dishwashers and TVs. Why don't you send half your money to someone in Cambodia or Central Africa? When you have an answer to that question, you will also have an answer as to why the CEO doesn't share half his money with his employees.

Say the average worker makes $30,000 per year. 350x that would be 10,500,000. Say that executive runs a company that has 15,000 employees. If he keeps a million dollars for himself that year and divides the rest equally as a bonus for every employee, then every employee would get a $633 bonus. Not bad.

If there were only 5,000 employees, each would get $1,900. Isn't a million enough? Where is the heart? The sense of social responsibility? The desire to help those that got you your million dollars that year? Oh, right... that money is tied up in the fifth house and the sixth car and the seventh boat. I hate rich people. Now I know why so many of them kill themselves and leave notes about how even all their money couldn't make them happy. Maybe because they didn't try making anyone else happy with it.

Yeah, especially the ones that get terminated for ruining the company, and then get $2.5 billion compensation packages for their "trouble".

How come folks complain about executives making lots of money, but people arent bitching about sports players and movie stars. I'd certainly argue those executives are doing a lot more for the country than a bunch of guys playing games for a living.
