Isn’t the Challenger the one that blew up? And, technically, I think the CCCP is defunct.
The Soviet Buran space shuttle, shown on the right attached to an Energiya launch vehicle, never flew orbitally. It was the product of Soviet-American collaboration, the US Space Shuttle and the Soviet Buran appearing similar due to convergent technologies solving similar problems. One original Buran test vehicle has been converted into a restaurant in Moscow’s Gorky Park.
Tiki, again:
1) Kevin Rowe – “American God”
2) Conan – All sweaty and manly
3) Rocket ships – Powerful phalluses
It’s okay to have homoerotic urges when you drink. Which for you is all the time.
Just rippin’ on ya!
Seriously, though, the Russian ship even has the little reservoir at the tip.
LOL Err.. Is the Russian booster rocket assembly wearing a condom??
It probably is, which is why it’s never “blown” it’s load like we have… twice!
No one should worry about whose technology has been stolen/borrowed or collaborated because space technology should be shared by all humans as well as other organisms that may live in other portions of our universe.
Clearly the Soviet shuttle is far superior to the American shuttle. Just look at the stream lined appearance, the sleek yet bold lines.
Why aren’t we currently using that model?
AKircher,
Convergent Technologies, Inc. ?
It really would not matter. The design of the shuttle is fundamentally flawed.
The Buran Project was halted after the fall of the Soviet Union and the B uran was stored. In 2002 the building that it was stored in collapsed due to excessive snow fall and it was destroyed. It was a shame.
Got a link on that, amazingalaskan?
