Loved this movie, more for the ideas then the execution.

I liked that movie as well. Though it’s release overshadowed Straw Dogs which is a better movie IMO.

My GF got a magazine that’s all Clockwork Orange based. Its freaking sweet to look at, though I’m sure reading the articles would ruin it somehow.

I think Clockwork Orange is overrated. It’s an ok flick, and mostly worshipped by those kids you avoid at lunch hour.

Notice the qualifiers “I think” and “mostly.” I’ve never sat through the entire production, I get bored brainless and fall asleep. The dude’s mascara is soo loud I can’t hear what the actors are saying and I’m just like, Pause, Quit Game, sleepytime.

Well, it’s a bit redundant, isn’t it, now that behaviourism, especially in its more violent forms, is mostly looked down upon and is being phased out of modern psychology. The movie was probably a lot more meaningful and clever when ‘might makes right, objectively’ and ‘the internal life of the mind is a delusion created by complex patterns of conditioning’ and ‘beat the shit out of ten year olds’ were actually mantras in the scholarly world.

No, not teh smert kidz. I meant, those weird kids who wear all black and listen to gRaver music and think of themselves as SOOO COOOOL cuz they’re on a higher level of consciousness for understanding “the wall” and the dark side of the moon, yet not realizing that The Wall is pro-education (“we don’t need no education” is a double-negative). They fancy themselves as outcasts and black sheep and it kinda defeats the point if ALL the sheep in the flock are black. In short; not the smart kids at all, xcanadian, I’m talking about the idiots.

I read the book before watching the movie. In fact, I read the book and then watched the movie with my mom because she *loves* Malcolm McDowell. *shudders*

Was trying to get into the Air Force about a month back… well we were staying with the other course also trying to get in and one of the chicks brought this movie with her…so here is a group of 15 potential pilots (The biggest grouping of egos you can imagine in a single room!!) watching this damned movie for about an hour and a half… about an hour through we stopped and someone exclaimed “WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT?!” “is it about anything at all?” she gave us a quick explanation which was vague and shitty but kept us quiet for another 30mins..

at which point one guy exlaims loudly again “THIS IS FUCKED!!” which was quickly followed by everyone doing the same thing, laughing our asses off and putting Platoon on instead!! Needless to say Platoon is also somewhat fucked up, but at least people got shot and shit got blown up!! lol
