During the huge firestorms in california a few years back, my family and I stayed aboard the Mercy while it was docked at 32nd Street in the San Diego Naval Base. It was awesome, I woke up and there were no cars, no people, no animals. The sky was red at 2 in the afternoon, it was snowing ashes, and there was no sound. It was like Silent Hill. We stayed aboard the Mercy because it was a hospital ship and my friend Heidi’s newborn child was having problems with the airborne ashes. And the fires were coming right over the hills by our homes. It was a frightening, awesome moment of my life.

That’s the USS Abraham Lincoln, CVN-72, homeport Everett, WA. It’s pretty awesome to be on, too. It has it’s own small hospital, right in the center of the ship, where it’s most stable and protected.

I would fucking LOVE that. Except the snowing ashes part. That’d be kinda freaky.

Dude. I was pullin solid snake manuevers left and right. We lived across from a elementary school and it was freaky. It’s all dark, red-skies and raining ashes. I thought freaky acid-spitting monsterzombies were going to attack. I had a length of pipe and everything. Granted it was the handlebars of a Razor Scooter, but dammit in times of zombie apocalypse you have to make due with what you have.

You sir, just made my month. I salute thee and your zombie apocalypse.
