Oh come on! Who’s network closet truly looks like that? Any network admin that has time to do that definately isn’t doing their job.

I happen to be a Network Engineer… and it is my professional opinion: That this is fucking beatiful.
You’ll get this if you have the vendor install it for you. If I did it… my shit looks tight… but this shit is virgin.

Wow, that is so beautiful!
Note the IBM logo on the ties. They don’t let me into the server rooms, but at least now I know why they ask so many detailed questions about setup, and why they want to cry when I need a server moved!

Yeah, my patch panels don’t look anywhere near that nice…. That’s some SEXY shit!

I don’t get it. Are these the Internets Tubes? What happens if an Internet gets clogged in there?
September 7, 2007 at 11:53 am
YEah, the net webbers are propelled through those wire tubes. That’s how we get our Pr0n. If there’s a clog…..you need a VERY long pipe cleaner.

September 7, 2007 at 12:32 pm

FYI, this is the Mare Nostrom supercomputer located in a church in Barcelona, Spain (and often referred to as “the most beautiful supercomputer ever made”).
It’s the largest supercomputer in Europe and 9th largest in the world.

EvilDon: minimum we have 3 people, but there was time when we had 7 people. The problem is: More guys, less games we can play together. We like to stay at 4 men.
September 7, 2007 at 2:47 pm
hehe At my house we have had 11 people. The cables aren’t the mess… It’s the bodies all over the floor when we finally get to sleep. But my house was laid out with lan parties in mind so that helps.

Wires still own Wifi. But someday…
September 7, 2007 at 6:24 pm
We get upto 40 people for a lan and hire out a hall… just one big square of tables and all wires leading to the middle. You never know which cable is yours!

Oh yeah nice. What most of my data center looks like. What you don’t see is the space under the raised floor where it’s probably a mess and very little space for proper circulation for cooling.
September 8, 2007 at 6:17 am
Wow, this is gonna sound sooo stupid but where do you find 40 people for a LAN party? For that matter where do you find people for D&D and LARPing? Where do you find geeks? I’m so alone…

Local (rather than national) Clan, University computer society, etc.

Heh, I should prolly put an ad in the paper or something.
23yo swf seeks fanboyish adoration of local geek/dork/nerd males. Men not vaguely resembling Kevin Smith need not apply.
