The little guy in the gray and black striped one is super adorable but he looks so deadly. ;-;

Actually they put them in “sweaters” after they scrub the oil off them. They wash the dirty penguins in detergent which also strips their natural oils from their feathers. This means that they lose the insulation that the natural oil provides and if they get wet they stay wet. So they get little jumpers until they regenerate their natural waterproofing so they don’t freeze to death.
