    You fail. How is that ruining a nice car? The car was stock, not it’s customized, and looks a lot better and is original.

    Don’t want to start a flame war, but the only thing that those cheesy, stick-on faux-script words *punish* is good taste. And the car I was driving in 1985 with mismatched hubcaps wants its louvers back. That said, it looks a more dignified than the purple Cavalier with plastic spinners next door, so who knows..

    Bakert, what do you mean mismatched hubcaps? Those are like many other wheels, black finish with a silver lip, looks good on several cars.

    And this car, aside from that thing(forget what its called) on the back glass, is about stock. The Mach 1 has the Shaker hood on from the factory. The spoiler might also be aftermarket…As for the words, eh i’ve seen cheesier on may cars.

    Did I hit a little nerve there ladies? Cars are not a hobby unless you are a designer/mechanic/painter. Real hobbies require an actual SKILL. Liking pretty cars is NOT a skill.

    Anything can be a hobby for whatever reason. What gives you the right to say what is and what isn’t, and for what reason?

    Don’t even try to compare ricing up cheap cars to stamp collecting. Stamps that are collector’s items have
    1) aesthetic value that can be appreciate by people in different places and times
    2) historical context
    3) rarity
    The “skill” comes from recognizing the qualities in a particular stamp without looking up someone else’s opinion.
    OTOH slapping on some cheap mass-produced plastic onto a cheap mass produced car in a uncreative and non-unique way has none of these qualities.
    Ricing up cars is just one of those phases that some people go through, usually at the stage in life when they still live with their parents and have more money than sense. Much like casemoding and myspace, it is a way for developmentally stunted individuals to shout, “look at me, I’m special in a totally consumeristic and superficial way!!”

    However, the new mustangs with the new jaguar/lincoln based underpinnings, that’s a step in the right direction.

    Those poor mustangs like the ones pictured above, those things got smoked by my SRT-4 more often than they should, which was everytime, sadly. Great little car was the SRT-4, I highly suggest test driving one if you haven’t driven one.

    Ha, well I am middle of the road on fords. I have hated them for the longest time. Then my dads friend is selling a 1988 GT convertible with a v8, high output with less then 80,000 miles for $1,600.

    I love the pre-1990 style on basically every car.

    My vehicle before that was a 1989 GMC s-15 pickup that was a 3/4 ton. YES a 3/4 ton on a mini truck!
    Well, it wasn’t a mini truck, it was a 4×4, but you know what I mean, the small trucks.

    Anyways, to make fun of ford (the best joke I have heard)

    sykotik, if the mustang was a v8, like any muscle car should be, it would have smoked you even if it was stock 😉

    What are the specs on your car? I was thinking of getting an SRT-4 because I wanted a car made in the USA.

    You guys can’t hate on fords too much, they do have some good cars, the old 70’s & 80’s mustangs are classics. And don’t forget what the first vehicle made was…

    You guys have no idea what your looking at. That car will smoke a stock SRT4 stock for stock. If you’ve smoked ’em with an SRT4, you’ve either modded it well or the guy driving the Mach was a tard….

    13.0 second 1/4, 0-60 in under 5.

    Are you on cheap generic drugs? I have a 2003 MACH1 that’s not all “fagged up” like that yellow POS. I guarantee ya that even when it was bonestock, it would eat your little NEON for a snack!
    There is no way in hell that your little NEON could keep up with my MACH1 now, even if I just used first gear! I’d be at the 1/8th mile marker before you’d get to the 330 mark!

    Actually, the SRT-4 would be a pretty fair match for a car that 0-60’s in just under 5 sec. My WRX does 5.4 and the SRT is a fair match for that car.

    same driver, the mustang would win, but the driver makes a huge difference.
