  1. I could have sworn that Buddhism did not have a deity and Buddha (Shakyamuni) was viewed more as a teacher than anything else since there were many Buddhas that came before him and many that will come after him.

  2. This cartoon actually comes from a larger set on a site called The Pain — When Will It End? The series begins with this cartoon.

    Pretty good stuff.

  3. The fat buddha whose belly you rub for luck is Hotei, and is not the same as “the” Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama.
