Ya, America is like the rest of the world, diverse and far from uniform. There are multiple states that recognize the age of consent at 16. And why, even if it was 18 across the board in the US, should we care about other countries ages of consent? Extradition to the home country would forgo and bypass any local laws… so calling it at 18 is a perfectly rational line to draw. Unless pediphelia is also accepted overseas??
