But if you're gonna do it right, you SHOULD watch Angel S1 with Buffy S4 and so forth, although the series doesn't go exactly parallel with each other. And of course, the new Buffy season 8 comics are written (at least in part) by Whedon and it rocks. Of course you don’t HAVE to, and of course you don’t watch Angel S1 with Buffy S1. Not hard to keep up.
