that’s easy enough to explain. They were covered in blue, computer removed them, not the shadows. like blue screen, only with people.

I submit Option #2: They were Photoshopped out in 5 minutes with the clone tool.

Easier still: they took the exact same photo again without the people standing there, and then copied the parts where the people would be.

Could also be real ghosts.
Requires less operations. Just download the photo and voilà!

sage: If you were the actual photographer, then yeah, that would be easier. But the chances are good that it was some other party.
