It’s even more wtf when you consider that the car is a Trabant (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trabant), a car famous for being made mostly out of plastic (“Duroplast”) and having a two-stroke engine sounding like a lawnmower.

wtf, where’s the motor? lol all i see is plastic. And i thought my honda 1.6 was small o_O

The chassis of Trabants was made of partly plastic, and partly pressed wood, which made it prone to rotting. In Kusturica’s movie Black cat, White cat, there is footage of a pig actually eating a Trabant:
